More than a year and a half after his death, Judith Hill tweets:
“Finally found the courage to listen to one is P’s song today.  It was comforting to hear his voice again.”  12/15/2017

Prince protégée Judith Hill was one of two passengers on Prince’s private jet when it made an emergency landing in Moline, IL on April 15, 2016, just six days before he died. Her grief must be unimaginable.

Hill told the New York Times: “His eyes fixed,” as they landed in Moline, IL, where they were met by an ambulance.
Paramedics gave Prince a shot of Narcan on the tarmac, a treatment often used for opioid overdoses.
By the time they arrived at Trinity Moline Hospital, Hill says Prince was awake and alert. The press was told that Prince was suffering from the flu.

Hill met Prince after she revealed in an 2013 interview that he was her dream collaborator. Prince reportedly saw the interview and reached out to her.  The next year the two were working on a song for her called “Back in Time.”

During the two years Hill spent with Prince, she says he never complained of pain and was  “quick on his feet.”

After the emergency landing scare, Hill returned to Los Angeles.
But she was still concerned for his well being and she says she alerted his close friends of what was happening. Those friends contacted an addiction specialist. Hill says Prince also took steps on his own to get help. The music icon was undergoing a series of tests with a local doctor. Hill said: “And that’s the part that breaks my heart, because he was trying.”

A friend texted Hill about Prince’s death on the morning of April 21st.

From Rolling Stone June 2016:
” In the hospital, he had told her, “It’s only by God’s grace that I’m even here.” She remembered, and said he added, “I had to fight for my life. I remember hearing your voices from afar and saying to myself, ‘Follow the voices, follow the voices, get back in your body, you gotta do this.’ And he said it was the hardest thing he’d ever done, to get back into his body like that.”
