VINTAGE PRINCE ITEMS EARN MORE THAN $400,000

Several vintage Prince photographs, mementos, and a sealed copy of “The Black Album” earned more than $400,000 at auction in February 2018. Boston-based RR Auction opened bidding from February 8 to February 15.

“Adonis & Bathsheba” is an unreleased track written and recorded by Prince on July 27, 1986. The song is a favorite among fans who were given the opportunity to vote on a number of tracks selected to be included on Crystal Ball Volume II. “Adonis & Bathsheba” was one of several song choices Prince played for fans during a Paisley Park event called “Prince: A Celebration” in June 2000. Recently, Joey Bada$$ covered a sampling of “When Doves Cry” which is the ‘Holy Grail” of Prince fan favorites. He held the session for Australian radio station triple J’s “Like a Version” series. His version of the classic is called “When Thugs Cry.”   Triple J’s site says: Joey chose the song because “To this day my mom is the biggest Prince, she always played Prince around the house, put me on to Prince at such an early age.
